Nirvanae is for adults who want meaningful connection. Keeping it safe is part of how we do that, every day, with real people behind it.

Our guidelines

Three things we ask of everyone.

Our guidelines describe the community we want to be, not only the things we don't allow.

    Respect

    Treat every member as a whole person. Be curious, listen well and honour people's boundaries, including when the answer is no.

    • Speak with courtesy, in public and in private
    • Welcome people of every background and faith
    • Give others space when they ask for it

    Honesty

    Real connection starts with being yourself. Show up as you are, so others can meet the real you.

    • Use recent photos that look like you
    • Share details about yourself that are true
    • Be clear about what you are looking for

    Kindness

    Everyone here is hoping for something good. Small acts of care make the community feel like home.

    • Reply thoughtfully, or let people know kindly if you're stepping back
    • Lift others up in posts and conversations
    • Look out for members who might need help

Reporting and blocking

If something feels wrong, tell us.

You never need a reason to block someone. If you report, we take it seriously.

    Tap report or block

    Every profile and conversation has report and block options, a single tap away.

  2. 02

    Blocking takes effect straight away

    Once you block someone, they can no longer see your profile or contact you.

  3. 03

    A person reads every report

    Reports go to our team, not an automated queue. We look at what happened and the context around it.

  4. 04

    We act on it

    Depending on what we find, we may warn a member, restrict their account or remove them from Nirvanae.

Profile reviews

Real people, reviewed by real people.

The same hands-on care that ran Dear Mac for six years now looks after every profile on Nirvanae.

  • Every new profile is reviewed by our team before it becomes part of the community.

  • We check that photos and details look genuine and that the member is 18 or over.

  • If something doesn't look right, we ask for more information or decline the profile.

  • Guides, our trained staff, keep an eye on the members they work with and flag anything that concerns them.
